Although this place has all the hookups that are needed , the Internet is sketchy and "open", and you cannot get cell phone service e. Please beware the access to this place is very remote, one lane type roads, though paved, and not near anything at all. The bath house was not open, the dumpster is quite a hike, actually not in the gated park. You are surrounded by rock and hills, in a hole, actually. We were there from 12-01-2017----12-04-2017, and there were signs posted that you were on camera and couldn't go down to the water. The campsites are clead , and if you want to be away from everything and everyone, go ahead.

To start off with it is the best campground in Kentucky it would be hard to beat

....Backroads for those of us living from Mundayslanding to Claylick, Talmage to Bondville. Generally, safe travels with respectful navigation. Cumminsferry is connected to Unity Pk at it's northern tip then Oregon Rd at it's south and then another Rd that starts with a "M", that I cannot think of right now in the west. It will eventually lead if followed in it's entirety to the Ky river. You will be greeted by Cummings Ferry Campground just before.

Beautiful scenery surrounded this RV park! Although is tucked away with a tad steep hill and turn to get down to it (and back up from it), that's part of its charm! It's so peaceful and quiet, but with the sound of the river that runs just beside the park! Our 33' tow behind had no problem making the hill (and we have a smaller truck engine, so no worries about the steepness). It evidently looked worse than it was! Ha! Ha!

Cummins Ferry just might become our new weekend getaway. We stumbled upon it by accident when trying to find a Memorial Day weekend camping site. We were not disappointed. The campground is old, but it has been marvelously maintained. With the exception of the pull through sites, large rigs might find the sites too short. Nestled under the Kentucky River Palisades, the campground is scenic and QUIET! No interstate or main road traffic noise. There is a nice pool (unheated) which our grandson enjoyed, and despite teeth chattering cold, couldn't wait to get back into it (at 6:00 am). Cell service is spotty and doesn't support gamers. Great place to disconnect. Will be back soon.

Staff was terrific! Even put out a orange cone for us to identify our site, as well as having lovely PAVED and level DRIVE -THRU sites! Pool as well! Really lovely hidden gem!
